Dr. Rajneesh trained in neurology at the University of Vermont Medical Center and completed a multidisciplinary pain medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. Before moving to Texas, he served as Director of the Neurological Pain Division at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
He currently chairs the Pain Section of the American Academy of Neurology, where he also directs continuing education courses on spine pain for other physicians.
Because he is trained in both neurology and pain medicine, he can investigate the neurological cause and treat the pain it produces — without sending you back and forth between two separate specialists.

Options beyond medication alone
Dr. Rajneesh is fellowship-trained in interventional pain procedures. Which of these is appropriate — if any — depends entirely on your diagnosis and is decided with you after a full evaluation.
Nerve blocks
Targeted injections — including occipital and peripheral nerve blocks — used both to relieve pain and to confirm where it is coming from.
Epidural steroid injections
For spinal pain and radiculopathy, where an inflamed nerve root is causing pain that travels into the arm or leg.
Facet joint injections & medial branch blocks
For pain arising from the small joints of the spine, often felt as stiffness and localised neck or low back pain.
Trigger point injections
For myofascial pain — tight, tender bands of muscle that refer pain elsewhere in the body.

Diagnosis and investigation
If further testing is needed — imaging or nerve studies, for example — it is arranged and explained before anything is decided.
A treatment plan built with you
Medical management, an interventional procedure, or a combination. The options and the reasoning are discussed with you.
Follow-up and adjustment
Chronic conditions change. Follow-up visits track what is working and adjust the plan where it is not.

He treats neurological conditions and chronic pain — most commonly migraine and other headache disorders, back and neck pain, sciatica and radiculopathy, peripheral neuropathy and other nerve pain, and complex regional pain syndrome. He also sees patients for second opinions on complex or unresolved cases.
It depends on your insurance plan. Many PPO plans allow you to book directly, while most HMO plans require a referral from your primary care physician. Our office can check this with you when you call, before your appointment is confirmed.
Accepted plans include Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Memorial Hermann health plans and Wellpoint Medicare, among others. Because plan networks change, please call the office to confirm your specific plan before your visit.
Dr. Rajneesh takes a detailed history of your symptoms and performs a neurological examination. He will review any imaging or test results you bring. If further investigation is needed, it is arranged and explained to you. A treatment plan is usually discussed at this visit or at a short follow-up once results are available.
Please bring your insurance card and photo ID, a referral if your plan requires one, a written list of all current medications and doses, any prior MRI or CT scans (the report and, where possible, the disc or images), and notes on treatments you have already tried and how they worked.
